The Taylor Ranch Ward has a new Relief Society Presidency. Jami Petersen has been called as our Relief Society President. Her counselors are Christi Hatch (Education) and Betty Jo Lewis (Enrichment). We welcome this new presidency and look forward to getting to know them in their new capacities.

TR Relief Society Cookbook Instructions

Hello Sisters!

Lori Lenberg and I are compiling recipes for a Taylor Ranch Relief Society Cookbook. The due date for recipes is August 31, 2008. You may e-mail your recipes to us using the guidelines below. Also make sure to only use ONE space after periods (using two spaces became obsolete after typewriters were replaced by personal computers).

Here's a sample of what the recipe should look like (I'll type it in RED so it is set apart from the rest of this post):

Chocolate Chip Cookies
Cheryl Jorgensen

1 lb. butter
1 ½ C. sugar
2 C. brown sugar
4 eggs
6 C. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
24 oz. chocolate chips
2 C. chopped nuts (optional)

Beat butter and sugars together until well blended. Add eggs, beating until creamy. Mix in the dry ingredients and vanilla. Add chocolate chips (and nuts, it wanted). Drop with cookie scoop onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375* for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Remove cookies immediately to a cooling rack.

It would be nice to get at least three recipes from each of our RS sisters. We would also like your tried and true/recipes that everyone asks you for to be included.

Lori's e-mail address is: lenbergfamily@yahoo.com
Mine is: cherylabq@aol.com

Suggested Abbreviations:

  • tsp. = teaspoon(s)
  • T. = tablespoon(s)
  • C. = cup(s)
  • oz. = ounce(s)
  • lb. = pound
  • lbs. = pounds
  • pt. or pts. = pint(s)
  • qt. or qts. = quart(s)
  • gal. or gals. = gallon(s)
  • doz. = dozen
  • env. or envs. = envelope(s)
  • pkg. or pkgs. = package(s)
Punctuation Tips:
  • Do not capitalize the ingredients (unless it's a brand named item).
  • Type directions in one paragraph.
  • Use an asterisk (*) in place of degrees symbol (e.g. Preheat oven to 350*.) G&R will change to degree symbols for your book.
  • REMEMBER...Only ONE SPACE after each period.
